And today was my last final of the semester! I'm officially off for a little over a month, yay!
So here it is, merry Christmas,
Everybody's having fun.
Look to the Alex Karev now,
It's only just begun.

Date: 2006-12-21 01:00 am (UTC)Basically what you do is have multiple images with slight alterations. For example the icon I'm using right now has 8 frames. The frames in order are listed below.
You basically tell the computer that each frame should be shown for a certain amount of time, say a tenth of a second, and when it reaches the last frame it starts again from the begining.
What I'd recommend doing is if you don't have a program that allows you to do it, download a few trials and screw around in them trying to find out which one you like. When you find one whose interface you like or features you prefer, Google for a tutorial for it.

Date: 2006-12-21 03:38 am (UTC)I made, or started to make, an animated icon and it worked, it was choppy and I had no idea how to smooth out the transitions. After awhile I just had to stop for the sake of my own sanity. And Photoshop's tutorial is *so* not helpful. *headdesk*
Thanks for the links though, I'll probably give it another shot soon enough, when the frustration passes ;)
