I started writing this last summer I think, after I saw Superman Returns. I just now got the inspiration to actually finish this chapter. See what a *good* Smallville ep does? This is definitely a multi-parter, and probably be quite angsty. And I fully embrace Chlois here, so definitely no EDLois in this fic.

I'm still relatively new to writing anything Smallville/Superman related, so bear with me. And feedback is always welcome.

Waiting for a Superman

Author: Jami

Rating: 15

Pairings: Chlark, Chlex

Summary: She doesn’t know what else to do except wait.

Disclaimer: Own nothing and no one. Lex and Clark are sadly not mine, but a girl can dream, can’t she? I make no money off this; if I did do you think I’d be peddling this on the internet?

Author’s Note: This is a future fic and takes place after all things Smallville and before Superman Returns. Nothing really spoilery, since everything happens before the movie. In my dream world Chloe has taken the place of Lois, since I get annoyed by how Lois is portrayed in most movies/television. This is simply my take on what could have happened after Superman leaves Earth. And Lex hasn’t been sent to prison yet. These will be a collection of one shot stories, the titles taken from the Sound of Superman album that I have been listening to incessantly.

My mom is awesome. Why? Because she totally hooked me up with cool stuff this week. I've been a bit strapped for cash to say the least after this summer. So yesterday she was running errands and when she got home she had a nifty copy of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman for me. Yay :) Plus today she and my aunt went to the state fair, I didn't go mostly because I sort of loathe the fair. Too many people, everything is so expensive, and I'm a big wuss so I can't stand most of the rides. Anyway, turns out they had a whole superhero exhibit thing going on, cool no?

So she comes home and ends up bringing me a collectible Superman poster and stamp set that the Post Office was selling now that they debuted the new superhero stamps that they are only selling at the fair and conventions. Then she gives me a classic edition Lex Luthor action figure, complete with little mind control headset which is just sort of awesome. *And* to top that off she bought me this big talking Superman action figure. I feel like a complete dork considering I'm in my twenties and am so excited about toys but...*squee!*.

The people at the booth were saying that turns out that most of the people buying the Superman stuff were older because kids just weren't familiar with him. I have a hard time fathoming that someone could *not* know about freaking Superman, but this is a crazy world we live in. Now I just have to wait for Smallville season 5 to come out in a couple weeks and I will be complete :)

Posted these at [profile] sv_icons, but I figured I might as well post 'em here for the hell of it. I was just playing around, so here's 10 icons, mostly Chloe, and one lj banner, a SV/Superman Returns one (with Chloe in place of Lois Lane).

I got to see Superman Returns.

You can blame my best friend for feeding my Superman addiction, but I love her for it. Now onto my incoherent rambling, which will be cut for spoilers.
