What's with all the drama?

Fandom lately has been so drama-filled, I feel like I'm back in high school. Lately, people at some Veronica Mars communities have just totally been ragging on VM and for the most part, I just don't get it.
I know that not everyone can be happy all the time, I understand that. I dislike storylines that have been done on every show I watch, or have had issues with characterization, etc. That is normal. What I don't get is why people basically tear an episode to shreds every week.
1. It's a tv show. It's not reality, there is creative license. Not everything is going to be totally realistic. The point of television is that it is an escape from real life.
2. Characters are supposed to have flaws, that's what makes you relate to them. A lot of people are complaining that Veronica has double standards, etc. Yes, she does. Does it make her right? No. Does it make her realistic? Yes. People have double standards all the time. People can be hypocrites. It doesn't make a character an less likable or understandable. It makes her human. So people even said she shouldn't have standards. Well, that's just plain impossible. People may like to believe they are completely impartial and don't judge others, but they do.
3. It shouldn't be such a surprise that she left her drink alone in the middle of the cafeteria. I know you aren't supposed to leave your drinks unattended. I've gotten the lectures. Especially not to do it at bars/clubs and parties. But a good majority of us, myself included, are guilty of doing just that. Not necessarily at a bar or a party, but in the middle of a crowded cafeteria, yeah. I can see that happening. I doesn't make VM stupid. It just happens sometimes, people get lax about stuff like that.
4. I can't believe people are complaining that she followed the girl into The River Stix. She warned her not to go in. She didn't *want* to go in. But the girl was an airhead and she ignored her, yet again. It wasn't the first time she didn't listen to her. What was Veronica supposed to do? Leave her alone to deal with the Fitzpatricks? She's not going to do that, she knows how crazy they are. She reacted on instinct to protect the girl. Nothing unusual about that.
5. Her hair being ripped from her head after she was drugged is not an insult to all the actual victims. It was a message, a warning from the rapist. Everyone, including the bad guy, knows she is looking for the rapist. It only makes sense that at some point he targeted her to try and get her to stop looking for him.
There are some things I don't love about this season. I miss Mac. I miss Wallace. I miss snarky Logan, who hasn't really been there much at all. I think the sarcastic, bantering Veronica has been toned down maybe too much. But I still love this show, flaws and all. No one and no show is going to be perfect. I understand that. What I don't understand is why people don't just sit back, enjoy it for what it is (entertainment) and let stuff like this go. There is no need to tear every detail apart. It takes away the fun of watching. And if you get to the point where all you do is complain about the show, when there is nothing good you have to say for it, why don't you just not watch it anymore?
There have been some shows I loved in the first few seasons, but after awhile they just became unbearable for me to watch. So I stopped watching. End of story. It wasn't a big deal. Sometimes I can barely resist the urge to tell people to repeat after me..."It's only a tv show".
End rant.
