I've been in the mood to try and watch new tv series that everyone I know love and talk about. I got a giftcard for itunes yesterday, so I bought the first episode of Battlestar Galactica. I haven't  seen the miniseries they did and they were only selling it as a set for $15 so I didn't get it. I've tried watching the ep a couple times, but I just haven't gotten into it. I don't know if it is because I didn't watch the miniseries or I'm just not in the mood. I just can't seem to get into it. I don't know if I should just hunker down and watch all of it and it will get better, or not. I want to like it.

They were offering the pilot episode of Psych for free and I actually really loved it. I had only seen a couple scenes from a later episode and wasn't sure if I cared for it or not, but it was really good. The lead actor (can't remember his name) is really funny and Dule Hill is great as always. Does anyone know when it airs? I can't remember.

Plus I downloaded School Hard from Buffy's second season. I had lost that particular dvd and I just love that ep. It is the first one with Spike, how can I not love it?

Since I'm in the mood to check out shows I haven't seen, any recommendations? I've heard good things about Dr. Who but I haven't seen a single episode so I have no idea.

I think it's important to watch the miniseries for Battlestar Galactica, because that sets everything up for what happens in the series. The alliances are formed, characters introduced, and the whole Gaius/Six thing is probably really confusing without knowing how they started. Hell, even knowing that, it can still be pretty confusing *grin*.

I can't remember if you watch Veronica Mars. If not, give it a try. I really got addicted to it, even though I didn't watch it originally. Bones is pretty good, too. Honestly, I don't watch much else.

Sooo confusing. I didn't get through the first ten minutes without being like "huh?". And I'm a scifi fan, usually that doesn't bother me, but there were so many people running around and I had no clue what was happening. Still, I'm not exactly ready to up and buy the whole miniseries in case I don't really like it at all. Oh well.

And I love me some Veronica Mars. I started watching it during the middle of the first season and have been addicted since. Logan and Weevil make good eye candy.

Bones I like, but half the time I forget it is on. I try to watch if only for the hottness that is David Boreanaz ;)

Yeah, watching the miniseries would definitely help with the confusion, but I understand about not wanting to pony up the money for something you might not like.

That's about when I started watching VM too. During the winter break they were rerunning the first half of the first season and I was able to get caught up then. Logan and Weevil are hot, but Keith isn't bad either. I'm older than you, I suspect, so shut up! I can *so* think that Keith is hit ::sticks out tongue::

Yeah, Bones isn't one of my 'can't miss' shows, but it's pleasant. I like the relationship between Bones and Booth. And David's hot.

I read somewhere that Eureka was supposed to be good. I think it just started this week. And if you have BBC America, Life on Mars looked interesting. I meant to give it a try, but missed the premiere. I tend to do that a lot :-/

Keith is funny, which makes him appealing. I can't make fun of you for liking him ;) I tend to like actors who are at least twenty to sometimes thirty years older than me. I've got this weird thing for Richard Dean Anderson, who is waaaay too old for me, but there's just something about him, you know?

I remember seeing something about Life on Mars, but I can't remember what I saw! I remember thinking it looked kind of interesting though. I'm like you though, I hate missing premieres. I feel like I'll get totally lost if I miss anything.

Yeah, I love a guy who's funny. And I adore the relationship between him and Veronica. They have the same closeness I'd love to have with my dad.

I used to think Richard Dean Anderson was hot years ago when he was on some soap, but after that I kind of lost interest. He was still handsome, but just not hot in that undefinable way that some guys are.

Life on Mars is on BBC America, so you've probably seen previews for it during Hex.

I can't get into Battlestar Galactica either, and I've tried and tried and tried. I've never made it through the first episode in the miniseries, because for some reason it acts like TV valium for me. No idea why (too confusing maybe?), but I'm sad, because I also want to like it.

As far as recs for summer programming, Psych has turned out pretty well, all new episodes of Monk and both Stargates are on, and Eureka has won my heart even if its writing is pretty simple. What else...hmm...

Oh, I can rec something not to watch. I caught the two hour premiere of Fallen this week (because I like the idea, but it was done much better in BBC's Hex) and it was awful. I wanted to like it because of Paul Wasilewski, but the lip-syncing was so off it was painful, the script was mediocre, and PW's nose job really bothered me.

I'm like you, I want to like Battlestar, I just can't. It sucks because you hear people rave about something and it just doesn't appeal. Argh.

I've only caught the first ep of Psych and the last half of the second, but it's not bad. Stargate is a must see, considering Jack is coming back. I can't remember when Eureka airs, but it did look watchable.

I did see the previews for Fallen (and all I kept saying was 'Isn't that the guy who played Lucas on Smallville?') but I didn't watch the premiere. What is with the fallen angel thing all of the sudden? I like it on Hex, partly because Azazeal is drool-worthy, but it sounds like it is a good thing I missed it :)
