Nov. 4th, 2006 09:49 pmLJ was down which was a bummer this morning, since that was the only time I had to go on until now. But you know what made up for it? I was the winner for Best Unique Universe fic at Fang Fetish for In Exile, and got runner up for best TV Crossover Pairing at the SunnyD Awards for In Exile as well. :D That made me a happy girl.
I'm currently completely exhausted. I spent the day babysitting my three nieces (11,7, and 4 respectively) and helping my brother set up a surprise birthday party for my sister-in-law. It went off without a hitch and she was honestly surprised, and when she saw that her dad and sister were there (who she doesn't get to see much) she totally burst into tears.
Overall it was a good night, I'm just so tired and by the end of the night I had an eyelash or something in my eye that wouldn't come out and I wear contacts, so that made it doubly unpleasant. I pretty much just stuck close to my family and my brother's friend the whole night, since most of the guests were my SIL's family. I know them all, but not that well and it leads to awkward and uncomfortable conversation.
I was surprised to see my brother's friend. He's the nicest guy, he just never seems to want to get out and hang out with everyone much. Still, it was good to see him. I think I've known him since I was maybe 11 or 12. Plus I used to have the most secret crush on him, because believe me he's totally crushworthy. We slow-danced at my brother's wedding, and trust me, that was a total highlight of the evening. But enough of my girly ramblings. I'm so going to sleep now.
